Structural Analysis of Thermal Ovens

The oven for heating/cooling metal bodies needs to withstand stresses due to vacuum and high/low temperatures. The traditional structural supports of oven for heating/cooling metal bodies are overdesigned leading to higher cost, excessive material usage and weight. It can also create difficulties in providing additional thermal elements.

The Structural solver in STAR-CCM+ can be used to predict the displacement (bending) and stresses due to the thermal and pressure loads. Various design scenarios can be studied easily to arrive at optimal design with minimal structural support while meeting the criteria of displacement, stresses and cost reduction.

The support plates of different sizes, spacings, configurations can be analysed to predict the displacement and stress finally arriving at the optimal design 

The post processing tools in STAR-CCM+ can be used to analyze displacement, stress in each case and compare for quantitative analysis
